The theological foundations of the search for God as an important condition for the spiritual life of an Orthodox Christian

The article reveals the theological grounds for man's search for God in the context of spiritual life. On the basis of the Holy Scriptures and the patristic heritage, theoretical concepts of the search for God are characterized. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that in the course of searching for answers to the key questions of being, a person must take into account openness and readiness to perceive the answer not only at the level of the body-spiritual component of their nature, but also at the level of spiritual life. At the same time, the spiritual life of a person must be considered in the perspective of their aspiration to God. Using the principles of comparative analysis, analogy, consistency and concreteness, the author conceptually outlines the directions leading a person to the knowledge of God: the very life of a person as a search for God; the search for God through man's exploration of himself; the role of prayer as a way of gaining a connection between a person and God, and the idea that God Himself turns to a person, goes towards them, seeks them. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that a person seeks God not in the totality of theoretical concepts, but enters into a relationship with God that involves agreement and dialogue. Communion with God is a key aspect of a person's spiritual life and is experienced by the latter through the prism of subjective experience.
