Symbols of patriotic feat in Russian public consciousness

The article is devoted to understanding the symbolism of the patriotic feat in Russian mental space. The authors emphasize that the image of the Motherland and the symbols of Victory over the enemy still serve as the main semantic components of the Russian collective consciousness, since the examples of national heroism, patriotism, and bright victories that embody the spiritual and moral foundations of the Russian national identity are inextricably linked with the national history. It is obvious that the system of national symbols and images forms a spiritual barrier to external information influences. In moral consciousness of Russian people, the image of blessed Grand Prince Alexander Nevsky stands as a symbol of a warrior, a wise and effective political figure; the image of Mother Russia; the image of a Russian soldier the winner; national spiritual symbols, such as mercy and military feat, as well as a moral feat. A special patriotic symbol is the voice of the Soviet radio announcer Yu. B. Levitan, who covered the beginning, course and end of the Great Patriotic War. The author's empirical research has shown that modern Russians (on the example of residents of the city of Tambov) understand the feelings of Soviet people who in the wartime waited for the cherished words “From the Soviet Information Bureau”, linking their brightest hopes for Victory with radio broadcasting. Heroic images and symbols become a mechanism for preserving national identity, since they do not allow the foundation of statehood to collapse. Therefore, it is obvious that they must be preserved in historical memory and passed on to future generations as a spiritual heritage of Russian culture.
