Abstract

This article analyzes the introduction of the book by the Canadian philosopher Charles Taylor – A Secular Age, where the author clarifies the basic concepts and terms used by him in this fundamental work. The analysis of Taylor's secularity, as well as a broad historical excursion into the history of Western Europe to trace the development of secularity models, makes it possible to better understand the manifestations of this phenomenon in the 21st century and outline ways to overcome it.
