Catechetical activity of the Russian Student Christian Movement in the first half of the 20th century

Catechetical work with young people has always been difficult and not always successful, due to the age characteristics of the young generation. The article attempts to characterize the work on the Church formation of young people in the early twentieth century and in the post-revolutionary period in the environment of Russian emigration. The experience of the circle work of one of the oldest Orthodox youth organizations - the Russian Student Christian Movement – is studied. The author concludes that the adoption of time-tested forms and methods can contribute to the activation of youth work in the Russian Orthodox Church at the present stage.
