Abstract

The article deals with the origins of spirituality of Russian literature, Orthodox-Christian culture, which formed the internal «Orthodox supertext» of Russian literature, with conciliarity (sobornost) as an original Russian concept. The article gives reasoning of Russian scientists, philosophers, religious thinkers and modern literary scholars. The authors consider this category to be universal, going beyond the boundaries of theology, which formed the spiritual basis of Russian classical literature. The Old Russian
monument “The Lay of Igor's Warfare” is analyzed, where the origins of conciliarity are clearly expressed, the so-called “ideal of Holy Rus” is actually formulated, based on “intuition of conscience and the drama of guilt”. It also considers the specifics of the “patriotic mode” of Russian classics, the problem of “external and internal freedom”, the most important genre and style components.
