The activities of the Tambov KazanTheotokos missionary brotherhood in the second half of the 19th century

The article is devoted to the history of the missionary activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Tambov diocese. The article considers the Foundation of the main body of the Orthodox mission – the Kazan-Theotokos missionary brotherhood, as well as the main directions of its work. The author comes to the conclusion that the brotherhood is not active enough in countering old believers and sectarianism, but it was its discovery that created necessary conditions for the subsequent fruitful work of Tambov missionaries at the turn of the 20th century.
