Spiritual formation of personality in I. S. Shmelev’s story „Summer of the Lord“

The article is devoted to spiritual formation of personality of the protagonist of the story «Summer of the Lord» by I. S. Shmelev. On the example of the boy Vanya, the author shows how the foundations of spiritual culture are laid in the child in his childhood and how his worldview is formed. The image of the father gives an example, shows the foundations of spiritual morality. The whole society is one family that religiously observes all the canons of the Orthodox faith. In human life, all actions should be done with love, kindness, good attitude to others. All this makes man what God intended him to be in his highest design.
