Abstract

The article concentrates on the study of parents’ and schoolchildren’s religious beliefs, their attitudes to the subject Basics of Orthodox Culture in a secondary school, as well as religious activities of respondents. The author reveals a fundamental discrepancy between the level of declared religiosity and the activity of religious life. One of the main conclusions is that, regardless of religious preferences, the absolute majority of parents see traditional and religious values as a solid and necessary support for all Russian culture and society as a whole.
