On the issue of studying the Anaphora of the 4th century

Abstract

The article examines the historiography of the rite of the Anaphora - the Liturgy, which is not only the central and culminating part in the corpus of services and rites, but also the center of the church's grace-filled life of the Orthodox Church in general and the Orthodox Christian in particular. Historians of Christian worship know a large number of Liturgies (Anaphora). Many of them have survived only in manuscripts and are not currently used. At present, many theologians and liturgists are studying this issue for a more detailed coverage in the light of new information on the study of liturgical texts of the 4th century of various liturgical traditions, using the discoveries of church archeology, textual criticism and other related sciences. Thus, the thematic development of the issue under consideration remains relevant for modern liturgical theology.
