The Model of a Christian Family in the Writings of St. Theophan the Recluse

The article reconstructs a model of Christian family relations based on the writings of St. Theophanes of Vyshensky. This model is based on the mutual obligations of family members: husband and wife, children and parents. The family is the environment that forms the personality of the child, therefore, its value orientation in the future largely depends on the correctness of the built relationships in the family. Responsibilities to each other is the primary form of morality that fosters respect, responsibility and, ultimately, Christian love. Fulfillment of duties disciplines, eradicates natural egoism, which marks the beginning of a conscious spiritual life. The fulfillment of duties begins with the struggle against sin.
