On the formation of language identity in the German linguocultural community

The article shows the role of such extralinguistic factors in the formation of linguistic identity as a picture of the world, social roles and stereotypes. The linguistic material shows the features of self-identification of the German linguistic personality and the specifics of linguistic categorization of the social space in German-speaking countries and in the common European sphere. The concept of European identity is viewed as a social construct that relates to both personal and collective identity.
