Abstract

The main point of this article is to study hymnography texts to Christian martyrs and to martyrs’ deeds. The texts of kanons are analyzed with their metaphors which express the contents of martyrs’ deeds but also try to think over the meaning of these deeds for the Church and for each man. Among the main poetical methods here is antinomy and opposition that also have theological meaning.
