Metamorphoses of love in the short novel by A.I. Kuprin The Garnet Bracelet

The article uses the example of the image system of the short novel The Garnet Bracelet by A. I. Kuprin to consider the problem of moral degradation of the family and society at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries, which is directly related to the distortion of the understanding of the highest Christian virtue - love. A critical assessment of literary interpretations of the ideological content of the story from the perspective of Orthodox theology is made. On the basis of linguistic and literary analysis, the description of the image system is given.
