Differences in Understanding the Principles of Spiritual and Moral Education in Orthodox and Secular Pedagogy

The fundamental difference between Orthodox pedagogy and secular pedagogy is the reliance on the immutable truths of faith, the truths of Orthodoxy, while secular science gives guidelines based on categories that change their cultural meanings over time and spatial coordinates. This is confirmed by the very fact of the existence of patristic works dating back to the first centuries of Christianity and dedicated to solving the problems of spiritual and moral improvement on timeless grounds. The authors come to the conclusion that Orthodox pedagogy aims to save the soul as a result of the spiritual and moral education of children, in other words, Orthodox pedagogy aims to save the soul as a result of the spiritual and moral education of children, in other words, liberation from sin and preparation for eternal life.
