Priests-teachers in educational institutions of Tambov province in the 19th century

The article is devoted to the integration of a religious component into the system of secular education and to the importance of modern Orthodox school education. Mainly published and archival sources, office documents, statistical data, formulary lists, narrative sources have been analyzed. The timeliness of the work is determined by the importance of studying history of national education, new biographical history, the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church on the development of schools in Tambov province in the 19th century. The study of the sources allowed us to present a complete picture of the activity of priests in teaching. The novelty of the research is determined by the micro-historical approach to the integrated study of the topic.
