Abstract

The article reveals the current situation for the modern system of higher education, which lies in the demand of the state and society for master’s degree programme graduates of non-pedagogical universities to do teaching activities. It is noted that this problem has not yet been fully studied both in theoretical and methodological aspects. A general system of organizational and methodological support has not been developed, comprehensive master’s degree programmes for teaching in non-core universities, etc. have not been fully developed. However, these universities have accumulated some positive experience useful for the training master’s degree students in theological seminaries. To develop the course “Pedagogy of Higher Education” for the master’s degree programmes at theological seminaries, it is necessary to use the already accumulated experience of collective discussion associated with the introduction of new courses into the curriculum. To do this, it is necessary to choose a common platform for discussion with the preliminary training of all interested teachers of theological schools and the definition of a problem field that would reflect the main problems of the development of the course “Pedagogy of Higher Education”. One of the most important tasks is to find ways of connecting the bachelor’s course “Orthodox Pedagogy” with the course “Pedagogy of Higher Education”, as well as with the relevant practitioners. In conclusion of the article, the author cites the most pressing problems faced by teachers working in theological seminaries: the choice of a single position in terms of structure, content components, principles, categorical apparatus of higher education pedagogy, as well as the volume of this discipline.
