Pedagogical significance of liturgical readings of the Holy Scriptures and ways for achieving clarity of the Church Slavonic text

The Orthodox Church has a lot of pedagogical methods for enlightenment and teaching of God’s people. Among the oldest practices besides preaching are liturgical texts: The Holy Scriptures and hymnography. Although in the Church of Russia, where the Church Slavonic language is considered to be an official liturgical language, there exists a problem of a linguistic gap between Russian and Church Slavonic languages, which has lasted for ages. This causes misunderstanding of the majority of liturgical texts. The solution might be in a gentle correcting of archaic and complex words and structures in order to help parishioners understand the texts with the least danger for the Church
Slavonic language itself.
