«Kirikovo inquiry» and «Edicational news»: a comparative analysis of liturgical aspects

This article provides a comparative analysis of two liturgical sources: The «Krikovo inqiry» («Voproshanie Kirikovo»), which dates back to the time of the formation of the Russian state, and the «Educational news» («Izvestie uchitelnoe»), which was created during the rise of the Russian Empire. The authors draw analogies and identify differences in recommendations to the clergy both when performing the Divine Liturgy and in cases of non-standard situations. In conclusion, it is claimed that for five hundred years separating the documents under study, a change has occurred only in the technical side of worship, but the meaning of the Eucharist and the attitude of the Christian has been unchanged.
